The Diamond Charitable Foundation raised $56,000 for Relay For Life through the John M. Faust Charity Golf Invitational that was held on Friday, May 17, at Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pa.

“The Charity Golf Invitational is a remarkable event where we bring community members, volunteers and businesses together to support Relay For Life,” Diamond’s President/CEO, Rick Patel said. “Raising $56,000 through this one event is an exceptional accomplishment, and I am so proud of everyone that came together to make this happen. I am so thankful for our community.”

The Golf Invitational Experience

Diamond Credit Union volunteers were joined by about 200 golfers over the course of the AM and PM sessions. This year, golfers had chances to win Eagles tickets, Flyers tickets, gift cards and more while they traveled through the course.

Golfers could also make a ten dollar donation on the putting green to play to win wine or T-Roth’s Cherry Bombs. The bottles were placed around the putting green and golfers took a shot from a designated tee. If they hit one of the bottles, they took it home with them. Kriebel Security donated the wine for this portion of the event. On hole 17, golfers had the option to fire off the Paul Yacobowsky Memorial Golf Ball Cannon.

There were also 17 raffle prizes that golfers could purchase tickets for. The prizes included: a pink wheel barrow, a golf bag, a gas grill, Flyers tickets, an Eagles basket, a wine basket, a spirits basket, several coolers and more.

While this event seems to go by fast, it is made possible through the months of planning of Diamond volunteers, sponsors and participants that support The Diamond Charitable Foundation’s John M. Faust Charity Golf Invitational.

“I want to thank everyone that played a role in making this happen,” Patel said. “Whether you shared this event with your friends and participated, were one of the 68 sponsors, or you were part of planning process, you are helping us change lives through Relay For Life. I can’t wait for next year.”
